42 Phili has quite a few doubled eye variety's, The pics aren't clear enough to determine. I am seeing some doubling at the bridge of his nose and forehead.
And can only guess that it may be a later die state DDO-006
    or FS-103

Here is another angle of the eye. Possibly slight doubling on the edge of the bow tie and nose? 2017-07-03_093806_715.jpg

Which one do you think it is?

I see forehead and bridge of nose and that may not be Die Doubling.

Go to the sources and bring it here.

Then try to capture on your coin what makes it match.

I don't think so. The eye certainly does not match and you aren't showing the other PUP's to match it.

It almost seems like you have access to the Pick Up Points and insist on not showing them with your pictures. The forehead and nose do not make it 003. The upper eyelid does not match although I do think I see what you're talking about on your eye.

Yours may be one attributed that hasn't been photographed and there are several. Still, the rest of the images would be needed.

I must apologize for my ignorance, I am learning by failure, as it were. I have not included other attributes of the coin out of malice, but because there are none. I wrongly assumed, I see, that a few traits does not close the deal. I was referencing the 003, not claiming my coin was one. This is my second month doing this and in no way am I trying to hoodwink anyone, it would serve me no purpose. But, each time I post, I learn something. It is a steep learning curve, like taking a college course and on the first day you get the final exam, but I have found a few that passed muster. Maybe my 1947 D?

    No implication of hoodwinkery.

There are several for 42 with many not being attributed with photographs and I do see yours is likely one, despite not being 003.

How about just surrender and post pix of the devices like are typically present in the attribution photographs.

You may see something you didn't realize you were seeing.

    I don't recall your 47D, should I?

All is well, Nolan... and thanks for clarifying. It's actually a very good thing that you're trying to attribute on your own, but even in cases where you're wrong, something can be learned from it. You've come a long was in a short period of time. :)

I am sure there are still some new discovery's out there, or you just may have a die state that hasn't been photo'd or seen by Wexler, or Wiles.
Later die states and circulated cents are the hardest to try and attribute, even for some experienced collectors.
