I found this mercury in pocket change and was wondering what it was worth.

There is what looks like a piece of metal removed from the coin's surface, with the 2 in 1942 stamped over top of it. Is this a type of error, and if so how much could it be worth?

    Thanks for the help

The bad news is, it's not an error and occurred after minting, known as PMD, or Post Mint Damage.

The good news is, it has .07234 ounces of pure silver, and has a silver value of $2.20.

Just an FYI, there really is no need for double posting the same thread on the same coin.
