Thanks. I guess it is always very obvious then...

Was slightly optimistic since this dime looks like it was in a bar fight. Also thought I saw some weirdness that are not normal indicators of the 42/41 like the lips look doubled and the right top edge of the 'T' in LIBERTY looks off.

........and, if you look at the top of LIBERTY's cap, you can see a "2", slightly squashed, as though someone sat on her cap.

Dip it in acetone, alcohol rinse... the shadowing should disappear...

Maybe the 1 would stand out more after the acetone.
While it looks like there could be a 1 there, there is no bottom stem of the 1, which is very prominent in the authentic examples.

I actually kind of feel like this would be a good description. The tip top of the 1 appears to be raised when I use a loupe and there appears to be some possible rotation since I can see the bottom outline of the bust CCW at 90° (adding a pic with different lighting - visible between the T and Y). There is a shadow '1' directly above the 2 in this pic. At another angle looks like a '2' above the actual 2 not the shadow '1'. Also looks like a die scratch from the top of where the '1' may or may not be (on a 42/41) running to under the designer's initials. I am still learning and have been looking at stuff on http://www.error-ref.com/ to help explain what may have happened. Thanks everyone for your input either way. Thoughts?
