1942 D Mercury Dime Date Error

    I see alot of differences in these 2 Dimes.. The 4 and 2 appear doubled in one.. Look at the ribbon strings at the bottom of the torch on the reverse..     Simply a case of two coins struck at the same mint from two different dies.

    I believe the difference in the dates and other features are simply due to heavy circulation wear as I don't see anything different in the dates or design. Love those Mercury dimes.

    Thanks for the information.. I could tell that one coin had been in circulation longer than the other.. My grandson ran off with my 1943 Mercury Dime while I was looking at these two.. lol.. I'm still trying to find it
