    I took a quick look: http://cuds-on-coins.com/lincoln-cent-retained-cuds-1940-1942/

    I don't see any listings for 1942 D. I can't tell from your photo if there is a raised area around the rim and field. I was also thinking a dent on the edge of the die could account for the void (if it is a void). Depending on which edge the dent is raised, it would affect the phenomenon (e.g., incuse or not).
