Not sure what this is worth, I can't find anything about a ddo one online (More or less a graded one lol) Sorry if it's poor picture quality, My camera does indeed suck.
It's not a terribly high resolution image, so crop and zoom can only do so much. Lighting conditions matter a lot when you have a reflective surface in the way, too.
yea ik, but once again, my camera REALLY isn't great Also no, it doesn't have an edit button. My camera really does suck that bad lmfao! Here, I'll pop it under my microscope
Any reason for posting it twice? https://www.cointalk.com/threads/cool-ddo-i-picked-up-at-a-local-coin-store.395283/
Oh I just wanted to show it off in the error channel, I was wondering about a price in here even though I haven't gotten an answer
During WWII, fAustralian silver coins (3d, 6d, 1/- and 2/- were minted in Denver and San Francisco. In 1942, Melbourne minted only 528,000 of these threepenny bits (as they are called), Denver 16 million while SF produced exactly half that. My Guide to British Commonwealth Coins lists this coin as D D, the first being the mint and the second to show that the coin is mint marked. I have no idea what the O means certainly not Obverse as the D or S mm is on the reverse on the right-hand side, just under the arm of the ribbon that ties the wheatsheaf
I see normal variants (Not DDO) in the same quality selling for $10, I disagree with your evaluation to be honest. Even though we disagree, thanks for the recommendation! Also, the DDO-1 means Double Die Obverse (1). There's a reason they didn't space it out (And added a 1)
I hate to be Debbie Downer but generally speaking "World" coin varieties are not extremely valuable (not saying there aren't any) but for whatever reason the only ones that command ridiculously high prices are produced at the USA mint. Perhaps it's because the US mint is more meticulous in finding and destroying variety and error coins. Just my 2 centavos
Oh no, I perfectly agree with you, I doubt it would fetch a buttload of money, But fun fact, this is actually a US Minted coin (In Denver!) made for Australia!
