    Good stuff , I saved it to the files thanks for the reference.
    Seems aluminum is a popular metal to do test strikes.
    ldhair posted a set of aluminum patterns a few days ago.
    It says Heritage Auctions so I hope that with a little research this can be correct info.

    One thing not mentioned in that article was that this coin is also twice the thickness of a normal cent but still only half the weight. One of the things they were doing was trying to see if aluminum could be used to replace copper. But aluminum is so light that to even reach the weight of what they finally went with on the steel cent the coin would have to be three times the normal thickness. Completely impractical.
