Looks like a normal date. Not a 1942/1 variety IMHO

There is a big difference between the 41 Philly and the 41 Denver
The MM looks to have the correct placement.
If you are looking for Authentication then I would send it to ICG or ANACS.

That first photo certainly seems to show the pickups for the Denver variety - but I don't really see them in the subsequent photos. The terminal toning does make it harder to see subtle features, though.

If there's definitely relief on those little "teeth" coming down from the 2, I'd be tempted to send it off to ICG. It's going to be a good while before silver prices rise high enough to eliminate the premium on this variety.

I’m not seeing the overdate so you must be seeing things. I don’t have a photo of mine but there is quite a difference.

Is yours P or D? The P variety is a lot more obvious.

While I think there may be a lighter variety, the 1942/1 is very prominent with the naked eye. I don't think this is the lighter one.

For the folks who aren't entirely clear on 1942/1-P vs. 1942/1-D (I remember when I was one of them), here are the images from Variety Vista:

    1942/1-D

It took a while for the D variety to gain popularity, and it's clear to see why.

This variety is really subtle, so yeah, it's pareidolia fuel. I've spent quite a few hours staring at coins or photos trying to convince myself whether or not they match. I haven't managed to cherry-pick one yet.

Others on CoinTalk have had better luck.
