1941 Wheat Penny Error

    1941 Wheat Penny error.
    First T in S”T”ATES error
    Any information about it is appreciated, appraisals accepted as well.

    Double Die I know just enough to be dangerous

    Not an error, just damaged. It took a hit and displaced the soft copper just like the other ding below it in the field.

    There are no signs of damage on the T and it has no bludgeon spots

    Also wouldn’t that push the other letters next to it?

    The "Curly-Q" on the bottom of the "T" is damage. It doesn't take much to move copper around.

    You can see the displaced metal around the hit on the T as well as the other hit below AMERICA. Whenever you see a depression/divot with raised metal around it, you can be reasonably confident that the coin was hit and metal was moved
