Is this a cracked die error? I suck at error coins but I am aware that many people have mistaken 'slanted 1' as an error when in reality it is caused by post mint damage from counting machines or some other external force.

This coin seems to have extra features & the 4 & 1 are still visible.

Teach me what to call this.

I don't know what it's called I am new to collecting coins although it looks as if the die machine left a blop of ink. Closer pic maybe?

Die chip causing an extra piece of metal to be raised into the surface of the coin!!

It's definitely a metallic structure...extra metal that doesn't belong. I'm just too inexperienced to know if that is possible because a metal scrap landed on the blank just before the dies compressed or if there was a chip (damage) to the die surface. I don't think it's a 1944....I can see it just a little more clearly with my naked eye and a 10x magnification lens.
