Was checking out my newly aquired '41 quarter. Was trying to practice my grading skills on it and noticed this on the reverse.

The area I am talking about is the ART in QUARTER and a tiny bit of the olive brance directly above it. The reverse rim and reeding is completely intact and problem free. The U is strong. The left side of the T is weak.

    Is this a grease-filled die?

I sure think the die did have grease or other debris on it when striking that quarter.

    Mike:
I agree with Zaneman, greased die.
Very small premium, I have seen greased dies that were very large and stronger (less letters).
