    Looks like a smooshed S/S large... but I have trouble identifying those on circulated dimes.

    Thank you for having a look. That is the same direction I was leaning but with the condition of this coin it is hard to tell.

    It seems silly, but the blob on the upper left might be adhesive, though I can't imagine anyone faking a large-S.
