Finding attractively toned Washingtons from the early 1940's is a difficult endeavor. My first 1941 and 1942-S Washies for the toner Dansco were circulated, and I wanted to upgrade them. Here are the upgrades. The old coin is shown first and then the upgrade is shown. It's a little hard to tell, but the upgrade '42-S has a nice blueish green on the periphery. The upgrade 1941 was imaged by Shane Canup. The other 3 coins were imaged by Bob Campbell. I think they both did excellent jobs. Needless to say, like all good coin junkies, I've started a second Dansco (and indeed a third one), for the coins that got kicked out of the primary Dansco set.
Actually this is something I've wanted to do as well. Nice looking upgrades...the originals aren't too shabby either!
