    I don't think it is it looks like it's been hit or flattened

    I don't think it is it looks like it's been hit or flattened a bit and gives the illusion of some thickning.

    Looks like polishing marks by the date. And the other I agree with bhp3rd.

    jello; I think it's more inportant what is in the 9, than your your showings.

    I think it is a doubled die i do see indications of notching on the letters and the coin is very worn and that makes it even harder to notice the doubling, but i think it is

    A clearer picture of IN GOD WE TRUST is needed. My first thoughts are that it is not a doubled die based upon the date. Those are indeed marks on the die , probably die polishing lines. In any case, I don't want to say for sure one way or the other without a better pic of the motto.
