1941 LWC Is this Damaged or die crack

    A Die Crack occurs on the Die itself. When it strikes the Blank Planchet the metal flows into the crack creating a raised line..

    A Lamination Crack is an imperfection on the Planchet itself such as what you have so it has nothing to do with the Die.

    Lamination Cracks are common on Wheat Cents. I have about a dozen of them in my collection.

    I caught 2 that day.. That was the first one at 46 inches and 36 pounds.. The second Striped Bass was 33 inches.
