I was reading a coin world article last night that was discussing the huge price difference between a 1945 Merc in MS65 and one with full bands so I got out my collection to see if I had a hidden gem..no such luck. I did however notice that the MM on my 1940S looked odd and upon further research found that it is a Quad S RPM listed in The Cherrypickers guide as FS-10-1940S-501 with a rarity of URS-5 and CONECA RPM-001. I would say it grades at about an XF-40.
