1940 wheat penny error?

    Was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is some kind of error or not. Do not know to much about coin errors so any help would be appriciated. First time uploading pictures so hopefully it worked.

    Looks like someone gold-plated a wheatie and it's worn off? I don't see anything else.

    Yes. It looks like someone, for some odd reason, gold-plated a heavily worn, common date Wheat Cent. As for the reason(s) why; We may never know. Haha!

    My first guess was a charm bracelet coin, but the rims look intact, so I'll go with high school plating experiment! Value...$.03 for copper. Value on ebay...$150.00 for rare panache error!
