1940 silver penny

    Shinny very few scratches pic will be posted in a couple of days. Can any one tell me if this coin is silver or a composite? :D

    Are you sure it's not 1943?

    That's a good question. 1943 Cents were made of steel coated with zinc and they have a silver look to them.

    Is your coin attracted to a magnet? If so it is in all probability a 1943 Steel Cent.

    Maybe it was coated with something. Like mercury?
