Whenever someone posts an interesting coin I have to search through mine. I had 10 1940 S Jefferson's in a tube with all early S Mint Jeff's. I looked at the first one and found a lamination on the obverse and a die chip on the reverse. The die chip is at the spot where the die crack is on the VV coin. I still have to look closer at the others.
Your close-up of the mintmark is so blurry that I can see owls surrounding it with a turtle on top of it. I wonder if ICG would attribute them? What say you @Insider?
You are starting to make a habit of making me jealous, geez. Love your pic's, great show-n-tell. Keep 'um coming. Thank you
ANACS and ICG attribute many, many, many, many more varieties than the big two. it's such a shame that the big two think some varieties are not important. I was told that one reason the big two will not do varieties that they consider too minor or unimportant is because "dumb collectors would think they were valuable." It's nice to have the "big boys" decide these things for all of us dumb collectors. NOT!
