Hello everyone I have a mercury dime that looks like a variety vista DDO-003, but the die cracks one is on left side of head just before "T". The other comes from rim up and into the bottom of bust about 1/2" from date. The problem comes in as the coin have wear and the cracks are gone once they reach the worn surfaces. Is this normal or would this mean the coin is not that DDO-003. I think the crack at top of head may be after minting damage Thanks 173518145857.jpg 173518242241.jpg 173518519.jpg

What's missing here are the most important pickups for the DDO - the BER of LIBERTY, which should show the doubling even at this level of wear. The doubling is on the inside of the letters, which ought to survive wear better on a Merc. It's understandable that wear would make the die cracks through the higher parts of the devices disappear, so not to worry there. However, I don't really see a match for the crack next to the T - the plate coin's crack seems kinked where the one here is straighter, and yours appears to curve upward through the feather which isn't visible on the plate coin.
