1940 One Cent Lincoln error

    On the face of this One Cent the 9 in 1940 the loop of the 9 is half missing is this an error? If not i would still like information if it is worth anything for it being from 1940.

    You have a damaged cent. Something struck that part of the cent and moved/scraped off the metal of the 9. Not an error. PMD

    1940 is a fairly common year for wheat cents: Almost 587,000,000 minted. I wouldn't pay more than face value for it, though some may pay between 2 and 5 cents for common wheats.
