1940 Jefferson nickel good condition ?

I found this 1940 nickel roll hunting. It appears to be in nice
condition. Is this worth having graded. Are the stairs worn too
much to be worth more than face.

If you like it put it in a 2*2 and keep it. There is too much circulation and corrosion for it to be worth the effort.

 

It won't make 5FS. Like PG said, put it in a 2x2.
