This nickel just arrived yesterday. Was thinking of returning it because of a spot under CENTS on the reverse that I am not happy with. However after closer examination I noticed that it may be a DDR. There where two 39 proofs up for aution and I was bidding on the other as it was rainbow toned, however it quickly surpassed what I was willing to pay. I purchased this for half of what the other sold for and was surprised by the toning as it did not appear toned in the auction photos. Still deciding to return or not!
Oh BTY it it graded Pf66 by PCGS. Any thoughts/suggestions!

IMO it's machine doubling, not a DDR.

I believe the die markers match the CONECA master DD listing but I am not quite sure!

I think you are correct in the DD. I like the coin. Is that a scratch in the left center of the reverse through Monticello. If its on the case, I would say its a keeper in my eyes, based on the purchase price of course.

Well taking a closer look this morning trying to decide whether to return or not since it would need to be post marked today. This is definately a DDR the photos I took are at the wrong angle to properly show it. I paid enough but did not over pay for it IMHO and it being a DDR I definately did not over pay for it.:D

Regardless I would say keep it. Then I would say post some other photos so that we might enjoy the doubledness of the nickel as well

Thanks for adding the arrows. What do yuo use to add them with? I can do it but it's not an easy or pretty process! Always willing to learn more efficient and easy ways of doing things:).

    1) What I do first I save the picture on the post to my picture file what image I want to indicate the arrows.
    1) I first save the image on the thread that I want to indicate something with arrows

2)I go to my picture file click on the image I want to edit , brings me to the image and then I open up a special program I have that brings me to edit the image.

3)I pick a file that makes me draw an arrow in red or any color.

I don't know if you have this program or not i have an HP computer that may have some different features then you . I no it sounds confussing to you, but I hope this may help you.
