1939 Penny (Amlrica) ?

    Hello Everyone,

    I was going through my wheat pennies and ran across this penny. As you can see in the pic below that it looks like an "L" connecting to the "R" instead of the "E" being there. Is it damaged ?

    It looks like it has dirt or corrosion there, in which case it would be post-Mint damage.
