Toning can hide too many issues to be sure but I would guess high AU to low MS depending on how the coin looks in hand. I would lean towards low MS (62 to 64)
why waste your time posting a comment like that!!!! It only shows your ignorance for the fact that only those experienced in grading would actually know, and I was simply seeking opinion!!!!
you have presented yourself as the doubledieking, and yet most of what you have posted as doubled dies or errors haven't been either. Now you come on and tell us you only want to hear from the experts. There have been experts replying to many of your posts only to have you insinuate that they don't know what they are saying. I was merely suggesting where you might find experts that you would believe. Richard
The heck with all the expert stuff. Just guess the grade. It's not a bad looking coin. The toning makes me wonder a bit.
Why be rude!!!! This is a coin forum not a talk show !!" save the drama and live" i figure if you have nothing to say pertaining to the post then don't post!!!!!
personally, I thought you were being rude when you took the "experts only" attitude. People on this forum learn by trying to grade a coin like this and then hearing what others have to say about their opinion on the coin. You have told them "don't bother" Since you asked I too would say that this is POSSIBLY low MS. the reasons being that not only is it difficult with the toning to see details but you also have glare occurring on some of the focal points that would show the small amounts of wear that would prevent the MS grade. If you felt I was being rude, sorry, but you are the one that has presented himself as an expert in a field that I specialize in. So far you have not proven to be so.
How much are you paying experts for their opinion(s) on this? Also, what are you defining as the set of qualifiers for what would make one an expert? Personally, I would think experts would be the individuals whom we pay for their opinions on the grades of coins. If that's the case, I see no reasonable explanation for an expert to freely give away valuable information for which they are paid. That would be akin to begging/panhandling. Anyway, in my thoroughly non-expert opinion, the coin would grade in a specific range of AU55-MS62. The hits on the bust would prevent a grade above MS63, and the hit on the cheek would push it down at least another half grade to the MS62+ area. Coupled with the poorly struck obverse, and you're looking at a maximum grade of MS62. From that point, I assume that the gloss on the jaw is from rub and not some strange event of highly struck obverse coupled with poorly struck reverse. That would indicate the coin was circulated for a bit. Personally, I'd say AU58, but I'm no expert. On the flip-side, I could see it getting an AU details (no grade) due to the suspect toning on only the high points of the obverse.
