    Well,
if the reverse is in the exact same condition as the obverse, I'd say that is an About Fine.

They are selling them on eBay for $3-$5.

I'll try to post some info on double dies latter, unless someone else has a few links handy.

Actually, jimmy, "Fair" is a gradeing term for a coin in much poorer condition than that one.

I wonder if you aren't confusing "Fair" with "F-12". "F-12" stands for Fine-12.

Yes, the Red Book is a great source of information, but you can't rely on the price guide to be accurate. One of the best price guides, I know of, is the "completed auctions" option on eBay.

just now nothing seems to be selling on ebay at any price.

its a good time to buy.

look what i just picked up i love these people that throw a pile together with bad pics and no nothing of what there selling thats when you have the chance of a real bargain, especially after looking at there feedback and seeing there definetly not into coins.

Washingtons are actually selling pretty well on eBay. We're getting roughly 75-80 percent of book for them, sometimes more. If you're going to try to sell them on eBay though, wait until around early October when more people are shopping then. Things are dead right now.

i can see theres bullion value back for my money as a minimum in that box so anything is the bonus

Good luck Jimmy. I got a great 1804 spiked chin half cent because of bad pictures. Paid $26 and sold for $110. I love auctions with bad pictures that scare other buyers away :D

I have never had too much luck selling off coins I didn't want to keep in my collection - which is primarily morgans.

I end up selling them to local dealers for slightly less than I paid, and usually end up spending that on other things while I'm there.

Ebay has never been very lucky for me.

There are a lot of ways to make money. Sometimes we buy small or large collections and break them up individually. Every now and then I find really good deals on individual coins and we resell those. I have purchased coins and resold for a very small profit in order to keep as much of a variety in our eBay store as possible. For a while, there were some great deals to be had - now I'm having trouble finding anything. We also have a regular supplier.

I wouldn't make a very good coin dealer... resisting the urge to keep them for myself is too strong. My local dealer and I talked about it once - I would hate it if my collection ever became 'inventory'. I think I would feel like I lost something.

I guess buying and selling may hold it's own aesthetic value, but I don't know if I would appreciate it as much.
