I was searching through random jars and came across this 1937 S cent. On the reverse, the last S in 'United States' appears to be missing part of its curve. The top of the M in 'America' is also cut off. Is this anything significant? I'm including pics of the obverse as well just for reference. Thank you!
@MsMolly …go to doubleddie.com and read the articles on John Wexler’s website about the minting process, how dies are created and worthless doubling. It will help you understand damage to the coins you find while CRH. BTW …your 37S is about a VF20 and is listed at NGC valued at 50 cents. You won’t get that if you try to sell it. A LCS might give you 15-20 cents because of the date and mint mark…as you get into the 40’s the commonality increases and values drop. LCS routinely offer 2-3 cents for wheat cents right now. Hope this helps…imo…Spark
