1937 D 3 1/2 leg?

    I know this coin is pretty beat up. Does this look like a 3 1/2 leg? Also, what is your opinion in removing the coloring on the coin in some way?

    It looks like a normal 37 D to me... it also looks like it spent some time in a certain Japanese nuclear reactor...

    I agree, it is most definitely not the 3 1/2 legged buff.

    Not to mention the 3 1/2 leggers are 1936 D.

    For some reason environmental damage really gets nickels... there really isn't anything you can do to make that one look any better.

    Agree. It's not a 3-legger.

    If that's paint or nail polish or lacquer try dipping it in acetone. It can't hurt. But it obviously has environmental damage and nothing will fix that.

    Might want to check that. 3-Leg Buffalo Nickels are definitely 1937-D but there is the 1936-D 3-1/2-Leg Buffalo Nickel.

    That's what I was saying... this is not the 3 legger... and the 3 1/2 is a 1936 D.
