Anyone have any info on this coin? These markings only occur on IN GOD WE and seems to be more severe than just machine doubling. The spreading is thick and pretty deep (incuse-wise). Thanks

    Dave:
    It may be die erosion.
    Definately not a double die.

    Davedawg,

Could you post a picture of Liberty, the Date and Pluribus. It may not be a doubled die but there are other possibilities.

I was looking at the O in God. It is thicker to the east than the west. I got to wondering about the other letter's and number's. Due to the wear on your coin it would take more pictures to determine if it's a Class 4 variety. Follow this link if your not familiar with Coppercoins.com.

    Dave,

Does your coin have these marks? Heavy die gouges next to the rim above GOD WE. A die crack shows on the bust to the west and over VDB. If it does due to wear over the year's, It could be the Coneca 10-0-II. Your coin shows extra thickness on the 9 but more thickness on the 6. It is hard to tell unless the marker's are on the coin.
