Aside from the Eisenhowser, I also picked up my first Mercury Dime in about 2 decades. I guess I was in the mood to get something new and different. This is a great coin in the loop although I am lost about the bands. All the bands on this coin look good to me. What do you think?

Wow, simply marvelous! That guy has some beautiful luster! Very nice! And about the bands, I don't know what really to say, either it's my eyes, or the pics are trying to trick me, but looks like there is a bit of a weak strike on a few of the bands, next to the leaves. Probably my eyes, but I think I might say no. But don't take my full word, I am certaintly no expert at this, lol. :D Some of the other members will have to help you out. But still a Gem Quality piece I would say. Very nice. Just testing my grading skills, would this probably be considered a MS-65 you think? Don't know, but I'll stop rambling and just say, beautiful coin. :D :thumb:

It says split bands but no McDonald's Arches ;)

I think I see all the bands. Did you look at the blowups? BTW - I passed on a white Seated Liberty for $850 and a $90 Bust.

    I like this guys coins.

Beautiful coin! Looks like you bought quite a few new ones today! I'd give it MS65 FB.

nice coin; the photos a bit defocused and that would help identify the full bands

Don't think that one is FB Ruben, but it sure is a gorgeous coin :high5:

What is FB - Full Bands? That means no nicks or breaks in the split bands? Do you think it is worth sending in for grading?

The complete term is Full Split Bands but FB is also commonly used. Nicks and breaks apply to FS, Full Steps and FBL, Full Bell Lines but not to FB. But the bands do need to be clear and distinct with full separation at the lines and I just don't think this one qualifies based on the pics. It just isn't struck well enough. So no, I would not submit it for grading.

The top and center bands appear to have some wear and appear merged near the splits. Very nice
    coin!

    Ruben:
Altho the bands do not appear to be split, therfore, full split bands designation, it does not appear to have wear.
Also, what was the date and grade on that $90 Bust 1/2?

Thanks Frank. I don't recall the date. I'm just on the look out for decent looking busts, and I forgot to look at the date since I didn't have 100%. He said, however, that he was going to be in Meville on Sunday. And his name is the other other Frank.

    Who??????
I know most everyone there, and I have to find out who he is.
Just curious, but I don't recall a dealer named Frank.

Also, are you going to Melville Sunday?

Okay, I guess that I don't know them.

I can blow up just those three sections with the bands.

From the pics, it doesn't look like there's quite enough separation to qualify for FB. It's a very nice coin, but I am also concerned from looking at the closeup that the coin's reverse looks hairlined.
