Hey guys I was just trying to get some thoughts on this Merc dime. On the both sides it seems like someone may have tried to plate it or paint it with a silver metallic substance or is its just weird lamination (it is much worse on the obverse side). What do you think? Also it has a weird bump in the coin that is very apparent on the reverse side. It does show on both side of the coin but not as much on the obverse side. So what do you think about that? As always thanks for any of your comments. I am going through several coins for my mother in law that where her fathers and this one was just weird. Also any value in this or just silver value? Thanks again

If it was not sandblasted, someone acidified it. Whatever it was came well outside the mint.
