1936 Half-dime?

    Wouldn't this qualify as a half-dime? Found it in a dealer's junk pile. Thought it was novel. Wonder what the person had in mind when they did this?

    That would make a great love token, I'm sure that's where they were going with it. I would have my initials engraved on it or some very common initials on it and slap it on ebay if I didn't want to keep it.

    use to be that a good test of a machinest skills was to see if they could evenly wipe every thing off one side of a coin. This guy left swirls not sure if he passed.

    This was made to be a part of a type of magician's coin. This portion fit into a shell made from a cent. Usually the reverse of the cent is hollowed out so when the piece was together, the obverse of a cent is on one side and the obverse of the dime is on the other. It was used in slight of hand, coin tricks. This piece became separated from the cent that was the "shell".
