Hello all, I know someone who found a 1935 dollar at Perkins today and said they'd give it to me for $20. Is this a good or bad deal? She said the condition is good and sent me these *lovely* and very informative pictures from her cell that show pretty much nothing.

Hope that URl works for all of you. Thanks

Also, this is a bit off topic but is it worth saving old style 5's, 10's, and 20's?

the 1935 note is not worth $20, maybe $5-10 depending on better images.

as for your OT question.. i keep all the old styles i come across

The black book puts the price at 10$ For Very Fine Uncirculated Can Fetch 65$, look for a letter after the serial if there is a letter tell us the 1935H was actually made in the mid 50's before the 1957 Series printing techinque

silver certificates arn't worth much. my dealer sells ones in uncirculated condition for $4. the really bad ones go for $1.50, and the "good" ones go for $2.50-$3. as for the old styles, i used to keep them, but it tied up too much money, so i used them for another hobby!

yup, I just purchased a very crisp silver cert for 4.50.
a little more than I wanted to spend, but hey...
