Here's one I've never quite figured out. Can't honestly say I've dug into all that much either.

Does anyone know a good way to easily identify a Medium Motto, Heavy Motto and Light Motto on a 1934 Washington.

I picked this one up today cheap. Opinions on motto?

Nice pix! I believe that is a medium motto. The light motto is very light and mushy looking. the medium is stronger/sharper, and the center point of the W is sort of squared off and ends below the points on either side. The heavy motto has very thick and prominent letters, and the center point of the W is pointed and is slightly higher than everything around it. (sorry I'm no quarter guru, just peeked in Cherrypicker's!) The medium motto is the most common variety of the 3.

I think you can rule out light motto.
