    Well for starters, it's a 1934-D, not a 1934. And it's the vilest 1934-D I've seen.

    Yes it is in rough shape, worth melt value.

    In high grades (XF and above) this is a good coin (3M mintage).
    But in this shape it is melt value with an absolute ceiling of $5.
    A collector might need this date and willing to go for $5 until a better
    one comes along.
