The '34 buffalo nickels were made with the original small "D" mintmark and with the newer large "D" mintmark. NGC says that most of this date has the small "D" and that the large "D" was used on "only one or two dies". The excerpt from the Lange book that is on the David Lawrence web site states that the small "D" coins are in the minority, and that most have the large "D". Who's right?
