I don't know anything about money other than face value of a bill, so that's why I'm trying this forum.

Last week I got a $100 bill with the serial #G00014478 *. I was able to find out what the * (star) meant, but I'm curious as to how to find out about the value of the bill. When looking on ebay for similar items, my curiousity was peaked. My bill says 'Series of 1934' but no letter under the date. Also there are '7' in the four corners of the white part on the face of the bill and on the back (right by the flower looking scroll) is '75' in VERY small print. Any help from anyone???

    Thanks much

Welcome! This is what a star note is:
Also, the value depends on it's condition. How did you get it? Change? Inherited? Just curious. Could we see some pics? Welcome and have fun.

I work at a Bank and a older customer (who brings in old money from his father) brought it in for change - which he does every 2-3 weeks. It's crisp, unfolded and nearly perfect for something that old --- that's why I noticed it. No bends, tears, or anything else.

WHOA! That is a keeper. What I would suggest is try to get a plastic sleeve for it to protect it. I think it could easily be worth around 500 bucks. Might be wrong. We definetly need to see a pic. Does it look anything like this? Good luck, and welcome again.

Yes, but where your picture has '2' in the four corners mine has '7'. And before the text of 'this is legal tender....' on the front left yours has a H and mine has a L. In the lower right corner under the 7 mine has 'L4'. And lastly, your ink on the seal is more of a lime green, and mine is a darker green. Otherwise, that's it!

I think the L stands for it came from the San Fransisco federal reserve bank. I also think that one is called a dark seal mule? Not sure. You might get better help from some other nice folks on here, but what you have sounds neat. And if you can post some pics that would be nice.
