Hi, Wondering if anyone has insight on this mint mark. Coin is a 1932 "S" Washington quarter. Overall this coin is decent condition, does show wear marks. I'm thinking it's probably just some machine doubling, or maybe just a shadow, but maybe it's a counterfit mint mark. Anyways, all comments are apreciated.
It’s hard to say without seeing the coin in hand, but yes, it looks correct. The 32-D and S both look like the mint mark is sitting in a depression and many are repunched as yours appears to be. I would say yes, but want to see it in hand as an added mint mark will look very similar
It does look right, but like Mike said you have to examine it closely to see if the S mint mark is added. It's in quite good condition for a 1932, I imagine it has been out of circulation and in a collection for 80 years.
