Last weekend I went to a local coin convention and bought a 1932-S Washington Quarter. The person I bought it from put a grade of MS-63 on it, come to find out after I bought the coin I took it to the dealer I usually buy from and he said "that it has been cleaned and won't be graded". I made a mistake and jumped on a price to quick, live and learn. My question is now that it has been cleaned what should I do with it? Can I sell or trade it as a cleaned coin? Or is it best to hold on to it? Since I doubt the guy will be at the next convention for me to confront him about it.

Post a photo of it if you can. If it is an authentic 1932-S, it certainly has value even as a cleaned coin. Depending on how damaged it is...does affect the value. The first thing to do is make sure it's an authentic 1932-S.

the coin will still grade and authenticate but you have to send it to a grader its better to have the coin slabed certified it still holds a value

Ok, well that's why I'm here asking question's, because I was under the assumption that they wouldn't grade and slab it because it was cleaned.

I got burned on this '32-S about 8 years. When I sent it in, it came back "Details" "Polished"
