This coin gave me the biggest hassle of all the coins I have shot. An axial set up didn't help, the shots lit from the bottom of the coin are axial. Drip dripping with luster. The obverse is much more blue in hand - Top Pop NGC coin. Certainly the value of it depends on whether you like toners. Whats it worth to toner fanatics? I am thinking about selling it. It was an impulse buy from a dealer who bought it the weekend before from another dealer. I just wanted to look at it some more.
Now that I look back at the images in this format, what is amazing is that there is no post editing of color on these shots and the reverse is that much different.
Love the coin and your pics...very well done! The only thing that would stop me from buying this coin is the nicks on the face..very distracting to me. I might pay a couple hundred if I could afford it
OK, I would call it a 64 brown (maybe even 63). This coin is raw. Selling it on eBay, I would say you might get $170 unless you are lucky. In person, I would guess you would need patients to get $225+., but then I have never had much luck at shows.
Hey I just noticed something, go to the 3rd picture down ( the one lit from the bottom of the coin) and enlarge it all the way up ----- check out the date, Liberty and e pluribus unum talk about an aberation~! I now know how to create a doubled die! I need to add that this is a graded coin and I guess it was "net graded" the mirror finish on this coin is causing that aberation from the lighting at 90 degrees to the coin
