Would this coin be considered around F-15 thru 20? The 31-D is one of my favorite under-rated coins of all time. Only 1,260,000 minted, 260,000 fewer than the 1926-s and only 30K more than the pricey 1921!

    Thanks for looking

    I would call it F15-
]Nice one- Also one of the perfect coins to keep for speculation 20 years down the road. I agree with you it should take off in the next 10 or so years-

The obverse looks like a VF 20 and the reverse a F 15. Nice coin.
I need 7 more Mercury's to complete my set.

That is a nice one. It could go VF. it would be even more exciting if it made a big $ leap in the next few years!

I have the set minus the 16-D,AG to AU, most good. Almost unidentifiable 16-Ds are selling way too high on ebay. I would like to find an AG for less than $200.

No chance of that ever happening again, unless you can find an old widow to fleece (not that you would, it's just the only way I can think of). The series is just way too popular and the demand for 16D's in any grade will always be great enough to keep the price above $200 for any legitimate one even in FR2. In fact the last PO1 that sold on Heritage sold for more than $200 and it looks like FR2's are selling for $300-$400 in the last couple of years.

I've been watching some 1916-D in AG and they have been going for around $400-$500 each.

Bone, I have to hand it to you. You sure do watch them mintages! : ) I agree, I have been picking up 31D's for a long time and will continue. They are not found real often.

Thanks, I wish I had the Mercury collection my little bro has (complete) he got when we divided my oldmans collection's after he passed in 1995. I think the 16-d is F15ish and the (1921s) are all VFish.
