Hi welcome to ct! At the moment, Imho, it looks like dye deteriation. Can you please post a photo of both sides of the coin. So the experts can have a good answer for you. Also just a little bit out of focus please. Thank you
It could also be lacquered/Shellacked. Years ago, it wasn't uncommon to coat copper coins to keep them from discoloring. This could be the cause of the mushy appearance. The coin was circulated before it was coated. Regardless of the cause, it isn't a mint error
I think the suggestion was for you to take a stab at trying to figure out what your next error coin may be. The group can offer you feedback on where you are right or wrong. IMO, asking "I think this may be xxxxx because of yyyyy" is a great way to build your knowledge of error coins. You might get an occasional snarky reply, but overall, you'll get positive support from CT members. Also, you can ask follow up questions if things don't make sense.
if you have other coin's such as the 1969 S pic above it is a KEY date by the way that you want to be looked at plz make a new post for that coin always post what u think you see as the error and full-size pic of both sides of the coin and then close-ups and in focus of the area in "?" ps welcome to CT some good web site's to look at http://www.varietyvista.com/ Brian's Variety Coins - 1982-2004 Nickel Doubled Die Listings this last one will help you out a lot check out the tab on the left side called worthless doubling http://www.doubleddie.com/1801.html there are more than this but this will get ustarted
If you think it's the good one, google 1969-S Doubled die and look at the images from places like PCGSfacts or Heritage auctions Hint, you don't have the good one. here is another hint Plus the 9 may have taken a hit
