    unc, nice reverse strike.
The obv is a weaker strike.

Nice looking uncirculated Buffalo! Surprised it's not a 1938-D ;)

That's a difficult one as the TPG don't really average the obverse and reverse anymore. With the obverse being a weaker strike, with the nicks, I'd say that is the side they would grade and my guess (that's all it is) would be MS63 or possibly 64.

That reverse is beautiful. The reverse alone I see MS65+
The obverse is another story. Too many nicks and weak strike for a high grade like the reverse would command.

    Overall MS62

This is one of those coins that you find in a dealers half price box.....your eye spots a gem reverse ,the price is right as you just gave it a glance...a couple of bucks why not?
You finally sit down and realize this is definitely a two face coin.
Now I will also add buffalos can be tricky to grade. So this is why I posted this one.
This specimen was graded by NGC. I sent it in years ago on a free submission.
When it came back I was a bit schocked as you'll may be. I did break it out today and saved its tag....please read carefully... 20201117_181020.jpg

I do agree the coin has seen some circulation, as to the rim ding ,and dings on the obv. The rev. Is the side they took issue with which ,as others have stated a 65 + strike. I do not believe that this coin has been rubbed ...dipped yes...but other than that no a border line Au.obv. and 65 rev. My take a nice fresh rev. die paired with an older die that had been banging for awhile.
Again hard to read coin for the novices eye.
