Is it normal for letters to be missing I can’t find anything about missing letters

Dave is correct above. No, it's not normal but does happen often when grease or other compacted debris fills the area and a good strike is not possible. A bit of a premium possibly but not much.

Is it worth going to a 3rd party to get a grade

I'm sorry but no. A coin would have to be worth on average $150.00 or more to make it worth the effort and expense. This is only a 25 cent coin at the best, providing you could find someone to buy it. It is neat coin to have and save though.

Can't see the reverse, but this is at most a 25 cent coin.
    Grading is very expensive.
