1928 S Mercury dime... RPM ?

    This S looks like the S is taking off. It has a bunch of shallow S's one after the other, which seems to be some sort of mechanical doubling. They stretch so far though...I was wondering if this is some unusual RPM.

    It's a result of die wear... as the die strikes thousands and thousands of coins, some of the smaller details close to the edge can appear to stretch out like that.
