Do you mean melt (90% silver qtr value based on spot silver) or junk value (collectors value based on current 'buy' price and spot silver)? They are definitely worth more than 'melt', and are worth a little more than 'junk value'. I'd say about $6-6.50 each is what you'd probably pay from their respective junk bin these days.
did you just say the same thing in two different ways? and i disagree about these having to much of a premium over their silver value. most of the dealers i deal with would sell them along with their junk
Melt Value is the value in silver ONLY. You can go to www.coinflation.com to get the up to the minute value of these quarters. The Junk Value is different. Lately, most dealers price their 'Junk' 90% circs at 22-24x face value. This is almost always a little higher than melt value. If you can regularly get earlier quarters like these for the same price as a heavily circulated 1961 Wash quarter, I'd jump on it. The SLQ would generally fetch 50c more than the going junk value, and the Barber would probably fetch about the same ONLY because its an earlier date w/ a mint mark. We are not talking much difference here. Some dealers may consider these to be JUNK, but SLQs are harder to come by so if you can get them for $5.50-$6 each, I'd jump on them. Good luck.
Nice!!! while zooming in on your 1928-P Standing Liberty I noticed the R clash. That in a lot of 1924-1930-PDS Standing Lib if this was MS-60+Full Head $$$ for clash if detailed could get more $$$$+More???? 1926-S is 1 that is :kewl:
Thanks for the info, that's interesting, I had to go look up SLQ clashes. I suppose there's no additional value in this condition, right?
perhaps its where i am, i ask for junk they show what i can get at melt. i have just never heard the term "junk value"
