As I said I bought a 1928 two dollar bill, with a small red seal and other writing in red ink. I don't know squat when it comes to paper money could someone here help me out with a value,it's in very good condition with nice clean cut lines on the outside of the edges. Sorry no pic,an approximate value is fine.

No one is going to be able to give even a ballpark value without a picture.

You may want to at least read up on paper money terms and pricing before you start buying paper money. The term "very good" is on the lower end of the grading scale, not the higher end.

under the date, is there a letter? Does the Serial number end in a letter or a star? Lets start there.

sorry guys I expected as much,I'll repost when I get a camera to work right, this was kind of a throw in on a coin deal, 1928 G series, small red seal, red serial numbersmontcello reverse,no fold or crease lines at all, except for one corner had a tiny turn down fold once upon a time, very heavy dark green ink,if that helps at all great let me know if not I'll repost when I get a camera working.

Could you also give us the serial number and any letters or symbols that might be in front or behind the number.

It sounds like it's a somewhat circulated note. Series 1928G is pretty common and based on the serial number it's not a star note. So, it's worth a few dollars. More than face, but not a lot.

  11. The Red seal notes are known as United States Notes, or USN for short. Some people refer to them as Legal Tenders but I don't. It's just a personal preference I suppose, both are accepted. At the top of the note it says "United States Note". That is different from what is currently in production, which are Federal Reserve Notes, or FRNs for short.

I just remembered I had a few Notes stuck in Granny's silverware box drawer that's in my closet, and they were 1928's. I'm a coin guy. Not the greatest, but better than nothing.
