Do you think these quarters underpriced? If there are any point in stocking them up? Do you collect standing lib at all?
Vlad: I remember in high school (in the late '60's) when a friend started hoarding these pieces. We all thought that it was a great idea, and that he would make a fortune. He was right, but it took over 35 years for the values to really move. The reason that the values are not as high as they should be are because, in 1925. they recessed the date, and, therefore, more of the original mintage is still available (as opposed to pre-1925 dates. Also, they were recognized a a lower mintage date early, and were saved, but not in high grades. In addition, they have already moved, in value, a lot since 1998. In '98 I was able to buy a F-12 for $10, a good price, even then. It slowly moved to $52. and then $85 in Sept 2003. Today it trends at $100. I do still think that they are a good deal, but you will find that they are getting harder to find (like everything else). Good luck.
Well, I was able to pick two or three up 2 years ago for $3 from a bulk silver bin at the local shop. I had never really paid much attention to the series before this and thought that they were extremely underpriced.
