High everyone it's been a while since my last poser but while searching today I found this to be a little odd,
It looks like there's to variations to the 1927 Lincoln A small Date and a large date
I first thought maybe it was worn dies But the numbers are sharp. Please look at pics and let me know your thoughts. Pictures 1,4,5 are of the coin with smaller date , Pictures 2,3,6 are of two other 1927 for comparison Thanks again everyone image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

There are no "small date"/"large date" varieties I am aware of for 1927. I think what you are seeing are just the results of circulation wear.

I also think it is circulation wear . The dies can not be perfectly vertical or it would be difficult to retract it after striking the surface, so some beveling has to be present, which will tend to make the devices 'thicker' when worn, and also circulation can tend to press down the relatively soft copper alloy, and by flattening it somewhat make it appear thicker.
