Ok so the obverse is 3j as it matches up but the reverse is a bit off. There are polishing lines around dollar (same?) but there is no "phantom" ray from heavy polish lines and the large ray to the right of where the phantom ray is supposed to be is heavily polished at its base as you can see which is full on the 3j page pics. It's almost like a peg leg lol. So what do you think? Do you think it's a 3j reverse or different stage or a totally different reverse? Personally I think it is the 3j but at at a later polishing state. If that's the case, would this qualify to split it from 3j? Or at the least should it be used to update the 3j page? Oh, and which ray is supposed to be shortened? http://www.vamworld.com/1926-S VAM-3j?responseToken=0c919a41635998a4f4ffa25155a224ddd
Ok, so I didn't notice before I posted this last night but in the 2nd pic from the bottom above you can see the top part of the "false" polishing lines "ray." So I'm thinking this is for sure a later polishing state of 3j. What do you think guys @SuperDave @Dave Waterstraat. Or could I be missing something? I've looked over all the 3x vams and the eye gouge and missing feathers seem exclusive to 3j. Also, don't think this matters much and there's no full plate or eagles head pics on the 3j listing, but it also has a "spiked beak" as I call it with a somewhat prominent polish line extending southeast out from the beak curl...
